Award as important innovation indicator
An award in a prestigious international design competition like the “red dot design award” is an important acknowledgement of innovation. The “red dot” is considered an award that sets the winners apart from the competition. “Considering the countless design options, contemporary communications design is able to differentiate itself only through the quality of the work of its creators. “The objective of the red dot is to make that quality visible,” explains Professor Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award and president of ICSID, the worldwide umbrella organization for industrial design. He sums up the results of the competition as follows: “The prize-winning entries are distinguished by an extraordinarily high level of design, of clever stylistic implementation - they have justly earned this award.”
