Winner "Best of the Best"
Within the competition of the SieMatic ID Contest, the jury chose the following project as the winner "Best of the Best" and thus as the most convincing of all submissions: 'Private residence world famous DJ from the Netherlands' by Robbert Leemans, ASWA Keukens, Helmond, The Netherlands
SieMatic ID Contest 2022
The kitchen was designed for Fedde le Grand. A world famous DJ who therefore travels a lot around the world. The aim when designing the spaces was to create a pleasant and warm home atmosphere. This starts in the reception hall where the dark SieMatic custom cabinets also begin. The 20 meter long SieMatic cupboard wall extends from this spacious hall to the kitchen. The residents’ wish and goal was a seamless transition from the entrance to the kitchen. An example of this is also the way in which the table continues in shape and material into the island. The integrated herb garden in the cooking island can be removed to create a large wine and champagne cooler integrated into the stainless steel kitchen worktop. Ideal when the opportunity for a party or drink presents itself.
The jury presented its reasons for selecting this outstanding project as the winner as follows:
A spirited design which perfectly extends the lines of the architecture present in the house. The kitchen is cool and yet cosy, representative yet also ergonomic in its planning. Sensual, chic, functional. The entire room is dramatically lit and - despite its overall calm - possesses a certain thrill. The elongated kitchen is perfectly integrated in this room with its oversized windows. I particularly like the idea of repurposing the herb garden as an ice bucket for wine or champagne. The room is a good example of contemporary luxury. Doubling up as a private space for relaxing and a social space for partying.
